My 1st traditional published book

I had finally received my copy of my first traditionally published book (as opposed to a self-published book) by MPH. As authors, we should not waste efforts to seek validation and yet I can’t help myself from acknowledging that I have achieved another milestone as a published author. Definitely learnt a lot especially when it comes to working with people who are established in the publishing industry.

so what’s the book about? Well, here’s the blurb:

In “How I became a Self-Published Author”, Aammton Alias reveals how and why he decided to write his first book, based on his recent spiritual awakening. The excitement of being an author got him to take on challenges, such as publishing a book every month.

In this single volume, Aammton shares the inner workings on how to become a self-published author. The amazing part is that he was able to have his books self-published for free. He taught himself book marketing, social media promotion and even book reviewing, to a point that he became a professional book marketer and reviewer.

His story will inspire you to write and publish your first book. In fact, he is championing for you to be a published writer too. He wrote this book for you.

Currently, there is no eBook version of this, though I do expect to publish (an unedited) eBook version. Publishing thru Smashwords is a bit tedious but it does give me access to many eBook markets including iTunes/iBook.

You can purchase the book at MPHOnline: here’s my redirect url – http://www.mph1.b1percent.com

I intend to write more books for MPH but currently am still going through my novel “The Last Bastion of Ingei”

I got a new cover, please let me know what you think of it.

The Last Bastion of Ingei Book 1

the last (drama)

What do you think of this book cover?

I’ve changed my book title from Majestic Feathers: The Last Bastion to The Last Bastion of Ingei. The book itself is probably around 70% complete with over 90,000 words. Since I’m quite keen to get this book into your hands or rather e-hands, I have decided I’m going to publish this book 1 in two parts. I have also changed the prequel chapter and moved it as chapter 2. I’ve got a new introductory chapter that I’m so excited about that I’ve been mulling about the best time to write it.

Will keep you updated. If you are interested in getting a free pre-release copy, please sign up on my email list or email tony @ b1percent dot com

Nanowrimo 2015 Winner

I know it has been a long time since I’ve updated everyone. I’ve been busy…writing. I had just completed my Nanowrimo 2015 challenge and written 50,000 word novel in 27 days!

The book titled Majestic Feathers: The Last Bastion does not stop at 50,000 words, and I can see this is going to be an amazing fantasy horror series. Unlike my other books, I have got to really proofread this with my team, go through the editorial process and then keep writing.

I am extremely excited to get this book published asap.

The Vessel of Our Writing Dreams – new book

Recently, I had the privilege of being invited to give a talk at a Drama Teachers Conference. The theme of the conference was Inspiration. One of the things that occurred to me especially after writing the book “Be The One Percent – www.book.b1percent.com” is that we live in a world where we continue to own. Even if we had become aware and start the fight against our own Ego, Ego hides in the very recesses of our souls. A challenge that had come to me frequently is the ownership of thought. The ownership of ‘our’ ideas.

Well, that’s what this book is all about as well as many stories on how to become inspired and open the doors of ideas to rush into our hearts and minds.

oh, one more thing, here’s the redirect link: vessel.b1percent.com

We are the vessels of our dreams, our ideas and yet where do our ideas come from?

Is it simply a mesh of neurons blasting out until a printout comes out?
Do we even own these ‘ideas’ that we claim to originate from us?
How do we ensure that we continue to both learn and project new ideas?
Do we immerse ourselves in an inspirational environment?
Eat healthy supplements?
Perhaps dress-up and speak eloquently with a posh accent?

Why do we bother to come up with something different, when in our current ‘environment’ it may be safe to simply linger in the shadows waiting…like everyone else, who happens to be waiting for you?

The keyword here is………. ‘brain atrophy’.

How do you stop this brain atrophy?

Did you know that when you shine, you give others permission to do so themselves?

Dr. Aammton Alias shares his personal experiences and odd non-linear stories to help you find the answers to these urgent questions.

Proofreading Frugal

One of my biggest challenges in getting my book published is actually proofreading. Proofreading to professionals is clearly the gold standard, but I thrive to be frugal so I ask family and friends to proofread my book. That way you also get feedback about the book at the same time. I believe the energy of GOOD friends and TRUSTED family members add to the ‘energy content’ of the book, which I hope in return will attract the (right) readers to it too.

My daughter Erica is possibly the best proofreader I know. She beats 15 other people (including a paid professional proofreader) on picking up my mistakes.

As I previously mentioned, I couldn’t proofread to save my own life.
